Nooyi named chairman of U.S.-India Business Council

Nooyi named chairman of U.S.-India Business Council The U.S.-India Business Council’s board has picked Indra K. Nooyi to serve as its next chairman.
   Nooyi is chairman and chief executive officer for PepsiCo. She replaces Charles “Chip” Kaye, who is co-president of Warburg Pincus, a New York-based private equity firm.
   During Kaye’s tenure as chairman, the council experienced a four-fold increase in membership since 2005. He also oversaw the launch of council initiatives such as supporting nuclear cooperation, clean energy, improved public health, environmental technology transfer and increased trade between the United States and India. The council got its start in 1975.
   Today, the U.S.-India Business Council comprises 250 of the largest U.S. companies investing in India, joined by more than a two dozen global Indian companies.
