Celestica picks DHL as primary express carrier

Celestica picks DHL as primary express carrier Celestica Inc., a New York listed electronics manufacturing services provider, has selected DHL as its primary express carrier within North America, and from North America to Asia and Europe.
   Under the deal, described as a “multimillion-dollar agreement”, DHL will transport telecommunications and electronics components, and finished goods to, from and between Celestica factories, manufacturing facilities, suppliers and consolidation points, as well as drop-shipping direct to customers.
   Celestica has manufacturing facilities all over the world, including Bangkok, Thailand; Monterey, Mexico; Toronto, Canada; and Kladno, Czech Republic. The company also has major consolidation points in Chicago; Buffalo, N.Y.; Laredo, Texas; and Miami, from where material is forwarded to multiple international regions.
   Founded in San Francisco, Calif., in 1969, DHL is now part of Germany’s Deutsche Post World Net.
