Overall, Abney’s compensation for the year grew to $11.3 million following a 104.9 percent bump in 2014 to $8.4 million. UPS increased his base pay 51 percent to $1 million.
Abney was promoted to the CEO position in September 2014.
In addition, Chief Financial Officer Richard N. Peretz, who assumed his post on July 1, received $1.5 million in total compensation, including a base salary of $382,431, according to WSJ. Kurt P. Kuehn, who retired as CFO effective July 1, received $4.8 million in total compensation including $381,327 in base pay and a $1 million cash bonus.
UPS last month posted strong fourth quarter and full-year 2015 results. The company increased net income 193.8 percent to $1.3 billion in the fourth quarter compared with the same 2014 period and 59.8 percent year-over-year to $4.8 billion for the full year.
The Atlanta, Ga.-based parcel and logistics giant delivered a total of 4.7 billion packages throughout the year, a 2.1 percent increase from 2014.
