ESPMC-WITASS to bring forward rate restoration

ESPMC-WITASS to bring forward rate restoration Member lines of the ESPMC-WITASS conference have decided to bring forward a planned rate restoration for the northbound West Coast of South America to North Europe trade by a month after a review of 'current market conditions.'
   Effective Jan. 1, the rates for dry cargo will increase by $200 per TEU and $300 per FEU.
   In November, the conference raised the rates by $250 per TEU and said then that they would raise them again by an unspecified amount in February.
   The ESPMC-WITASS also reminded its customers of a $400 peak season surcharge for reefer cargo with effect from Jan. 15 until May 31.
   Member lines of ESPMC-WITASS are CMA CGM, Compania Sud Americana de Vapores (CSAV), Hamburg Sud, Hapag-Lloyd and 'K' Line.
