CMA CGM, China Shipping to deploy mega-ships on new Asia/Europe loop

CMA CGM, China Shipping to deploy mega-ships on new Asia/Europe loop    CMA CGM and China Shipping will in August continue their close partnership in the Asia/Europe trade by starting a joint weekly service using eight vessels of 9,400 to 9,600 TEUs.
   Both carriers will operate four ships each on a service that will be marketed by CMA CGM as FAL 2 and AEX 7 by China Shipping.
   The FAL 2/AEX 7 port rotation will be: Ningbo, Shanghai, Yantian, Hong Kong, Port Kelang, Le Havre, Rotterdam, Hamburg, Zeebrugge, Port Kelang, and back to Ningbo.
   The vessel “CMA CGM Norma” is scheduled to make the first departure on the service Aug. 22.
   “With the FAL 2/AEX 7, CMA CGM and China Shipping will enhance and rationalize the network of their existing services: this being for CMA CGM the replacement of Sundex service and for CSCL the cancellation of AEX 2 service,” CMA CGM said in a statement.
