The Port of Los Angeles handled 716,319 TEUs in the month, down 5.9 percent from 761,326 TEUs last year, while throughput at the Port of Long Beach improved 11.1 percent to 647,428 TEUs from 582,925 TEUs a year ago.
After seven months, the two ports’ combined box volume was up 2.1 percent to 8.93 million TEUs with Los Angeles up 2.9 percent to 4.76 million TEUs and Long Beach gaining 1.2 percent to 4.17 million TEUs.
