Powell named CFO of Expeditors

Powell named CFO of Expeditors Expeditors International of Washington has appointed Bradley S. Powell to chief financial officer, effective Oct. 1.
   Prior to joining the Seattle-based logistics services provider, Powell was president, CFO and secretary for Eden BioScience Corp. He also previously served as vice president for Omega Environmental and senior manager at KPMG.
   Powell will be the first non-homegrown executive at Expeditors to fill the CFO position.
   'Expeditors has had a relatively low turnover throughout the years, particularly within our executive ranks,' said R. Jordan Gates, president and chief operating officer for Expeditors, in a statement. 'There have only been two CFOs in the company's nearly 30-year history and, accordingly, we thought long and hard before making the decision to fill this position externally.'
