Dachser rebrands Iberian subsidiary

The German third-party logistics provider has completed its integration of Spanish subsidiary Azkar Group, purchased in 2013, into its European road network and has rebranded the company under its Dachser Spain and Dacsher Portugal divisions.    German global third-party logistics company Dachser has completed the integrations of its Iberian subsidiary Azkar Group into its European road network, the company said in a statement.
   As a result, the company will be rebranding its operations in the Iberian Peninsula, calling the overland transport divisions Dachser Spain and Dachser Portugal, respectively. Five former Azkar branches in Barcelona, Bilbao, Malaga, Porto, and Valencia have already been converted to the Dascher brand, and the rest will follow by 2020, the company said.
   Dachser initially acquired the Azkar Group in 2013. Since then, the company has increased its import and export routes from 70 per day to 130 per day, and shipment volumes to and from Europe have grown 40 percent over the same period.
   Among its subsidiaries, acquisitions and partners, Dachser’s European Logistics (formerly Azkar Group) and Air & Sea Logistics (formerly Transunion) business lines provide groupage and full-truck-load transports as well as warehousing, value added services, and logistics requirements for the Iberian B2B parcel business.
   Last year, Dachser transported 20.5 million shipments weighing around 3 million tons on the Iberian Peninsula. The company reported sales revenue of roughly 741 million euros (USD $814 million) from Iberian transport services for the year.
