INTERMARINE AND ATL MERGE GULF/WEST COAST SOUTH AMERICA LINKS    Breakbulk operators Intermarine and Associated Transport Lines are merging their U.S. Gulf/West Coast of South America services.
   From June 17, the joint West Coast Industrial Express service will offer three sailings a month from Tampico, New Orleans and Houston to Esmeraldas, Guayaquil, Callao and Antofagasta.
   Intermarine said that Valparaiso or San Antonio will be called at least once monthly. Other discharge ports such as Manta, Salaverry, Paita and Arica will be called on inducement.
   The service will be maintained in both the southbound and northbound directions.
   The older tonnage historically utilized by Associated Transport Lines in the trade is being discontinued. The joint service will utilize a regular fleet of modern multipurpose vessels sailing Houston every 10-12 days.
   The service will call at Manchester Terminals in Houston. However, for the inaugural voyage of the service, the “Clio,” will call both Manchester and Joe D. Hughes Terminals.
   Intermarine and Associated Transport Lines will market the service separately.
