Advisory firm starts maritime indices    Capital Link Inc., a New York-based investor relations and advisory firm with a strategic focus on shipping, announced the launching of a series of seven stock market maritime indices for U.S. companies.
   Specific indices are targeted at container, dry bulk, tanker, LPG-LNG, and mixed fleet companies. There's an additional index for all U.S. maritime companies in any sector.
   'The objective of these indices is to enable investors, as well as all shipping market participants, to better track the performance of individual listed shipping stocks, as well as of the shipping industry and specific sectors,' said Nicolas Bornozis, president of Capital Link. 'The indices currently focus only on companies listed on U.S. exchanges, as the United States is by far the largest and most liquid market for listed shipping companies with a large and established peer group and with a well-developed analyst and investor base.'
   The indices are calculated daily and are based on the market capitalization weighting of the stocks in each index.
   All U.S.-listed companies are included in the main index, the Capital Link Maritime Index. A company may also be included in additional indices where it primarily operates. Companies that operate 60 or more percent of their total fleet in a single sector are also included in that sector index. Companies that operate a minimum of one-third of their total fleet in other sectors are also included in the mixed fleet index.
