CMA CGM raising rates

The liner carrier CMA CGM said Friday it plans to raise rates on a number of trades on July 1.
The increases are:

$300 per 20-foot container and $400 per 40-foot container from Northern Europe to the U.S. East Coast and Canada.
$250 per 20-foot container and $350 per 40-foot container from the Mediterranean to the U.S. East Coast.
$250 per 20-foot container and $300 per 40-foot container from Northern Europe to Mexico.
$300 per container from India and Pakistan to Northern Europe and the Mediterranean.
200 euros from the Mediterranean to the east coast of South America.
$300 per TEU from Asia to New Zealand.
$150 per 20-foot container, $250 per 40-foot or 40-foot high-cube container from Northern Europe to the Red Sea and Persian Gulf.

CMA CGM said it will also assess a peak season surcharge on the eastbound transpacific from June 10 in line with recommendations from the Transpacific Stabilization Agreement.
The surcharges are:

$480 per 20-foot container.
$600 per 40-foot container.
$675 per 40-foot high-cube container.
$760 per 45-foot high-cube container.
$960 per 53-foot high-cube container.

A separate peak season surcharge from the Indian Subcontinent to the U.S. East Coast will also be assessed on dry and refrigerated containers from June 10. Those surcharges are:

$360 per 20-foot container.
$450 per 40-foot container.
$510 per 40-foot high-cube container.

Finally, CMA CGM said it will hike rates by $250 per TEU from Asia to East Africa from June 1. – Eric Johnson
