The U.S. Trade Representative requested the investigation. The ITC is an independent, nonpartisan, fact-finding federal agency.
The investigation (NAFTA-103-14) covers a variety of commodities, such as fish, herbs and spices, leather, aluminum, diesel engines, electric motors, locomotives and lighters. The ITC expects to submit its advice to the USTR by Aug. 14.
