Intermarine takes delivery of second new ship Intermarine said it has taken delivery of the second in a series of six heavy-lift ships that it is adding to its fleet.
   The 'Industrial Destiny' was delivered earlier in November by ENVC shipyard in Viana do Castelo, Portugal.
   The first voyage of the vessel carried power generation and oil and gas heavy-lift components from North Europe to the United States. The heaviest piece was a 237 metric ton, 52 meter-long cold box.
   Roger Kavanagh, president of Intermarine, said the ships provide more versatility than traditional breakbulk/heavy-lift designs.
   The vessel features holds with adjustable 'tweendecks for ease and flexibility in stowage and cargo handling, two 250-ton combinable cranes, and the ability to carry heavy cargo while maintaining relatively shallow drafts so that the ships can economically service remote project developments.
