Spireon launches new fleet tracker

   Spireon has launched the next generation of its FleetLocate Trailer Asset and Intelligence Solution to give companies better tools to track and monitor their fleets and assets.
   The FleetLocate Trailer Tracking solution now includes new hardware, software, services, and an easy-to-use Web-portal.
   Spireon’s service gains some of its new capabilities through integrations with partners like TMW Systems’ TMWSuite and TMT Fleet Maintenance Solutions. These integrations combine to give the customer access to seamless asset tracking and monitoring around key information like location, capacity, operations, dispatch visibility, GPS monitoring over time, mileage, scheduling, and turn-based suggestions.
   The company said it will add in scheduling of preventive maintenance based on miles traveled and support for emergency alerts and maintenance.
   Part of its ability to capture this information comes from new hardware added to the platform. Sensors that can be integrated with FleetLocate capture additional information around loads, idling, in-transit statuses, and other new features. The sensors use CDMA cellular networks which the company said give it better coverage even in rural areas.
