Halliday quits CMA CGM (UK), Jacobs not going to replace him

Halliday quits CMA CGM (UK), Jacobs not going to replace him    David Halliday has resigned as executive chairman of CMA CGM (UK) Ltd., the British shipowning and agency subsidiary of French global shipping line CMA CGM.
   CMA CGM said the decision was reached via “mutual agreement” and that no decision has been made yet on a replacement.
   Halliday has been with the company for four years, prior to which he was senior vice president of CP Ships and chief executive of Contship Containerlines.
   In a telephone interview with American Shipper, former A.P. Moller-Maersk and NOL executive Flemming Jacobs dismissed speculation that he has been lined up as Halliday’s replacement. “There’s nothing to the stories,” he said.
   Jacobs was recently a guest of CMA CGM at a vessel christening ceremony in the Port of Southampton.
