German trade, industrial production up in February

Exports and imports both outperformed consensus projections for the month, according to investment advisor Seeking Alpha.    German exports and imports both increased in February, beating their respective consensus projections, according to a statement from investment advisor Seeking Alpha.
   Exports from Germany were up 1.5 percent in February, better than the 1-percent growth projection, after falling 2.1 percent in January. Imports increased 1.8 percent despite forecasts of 1.2 percent growth following a decline of 0.2 percent the previous month.
   Seasonally adjusted industrial production totals for the month also increased .2 percent after falling .4 percent in January.
   Aline Schuiling, economist at the Netherlands-based bank ABN Amro, said, “We expect Germany’s industrial sector to continue to grow robustly in the coming months. It is supported by the weak euro, historically low interest rates and strong domestic fundamentals.”
