Lehmkuhl resurfaces as head of Lineage Logistics

Former Con-Way Freight president will take helm of the port warehousing, logistics, and cold storage company, effective mid-July.    Lineage Logistics, a major port warehousing, logistics, and cold storage provider, has hired Gregory Lehmkuhl as its new chief executive officer, effective mid-July. Current CEO Bill Hendricksen will become vice chairman at that time, the company announced Thursday.
   The large less-than-truckload carrier Con-Way Freight earlier this week said Lehmkuhl, the company’s president, had left to join a private equity firm and was being internally replaced by Joe Dagnese, who previously headed Con-Way Truckload. 
   Lineage, which controls more than 544 million square feet of temperature-controlled warehouse space in 102 facilities, is backed by San Francisco-based Bay Grove Capital, which has helped the company expand in recent years.
   Lehmkulh spent 14 years at Con-Way Freight and its sister company Menlo Logistics.
   “My decision to step down earlier this year was based on finding the right person to take Lineage into the future,” Hendricksen said in a statement. “Every company has different stages of growth, and each stage requires a CEO with specific skill sets. Greg is an exceptional leader who has expertise integrating and transforming growing companies and possesses the character to inspire our team.”
