SOGET new port system on Microsoft cloud    SOGET, a developer of customs services for ports, will launch its next generation of products on Microsoft Cloud Technology, the company said Wednesday at the World Customs Organization's IT conference in Seattle.
   SOGET, a public-private partnership between the Port Community of Le Havre, Port of Le Havre Authority and French Customs, launched its so-called e-Maritime Port Single Window project in June 2010 for deployment in French ports, but it is seeking to expand to overseas ports.
   The e-Maritime Port Single Window provides a single sign-on for maritime, port, logistics and government trade stakeholders to access real-time data. The system also aims to standardize exchanges and provide interoperability with European and international port and government single window systems, the company said.
   “E-maritime is a strategic project for SOGET,' said Jacques Ritt, chief executive officer. 'Based on Microsoft technology, the Port Single Window aims to make multimodal transport greener, safer, cheaper, more competitive and transparent by standardizing core functional processes, facilitating business networking, improving knowledge, and dealing with all stakeholders.'
