APMT Bahrain to introduce new terminal operating system

The operating system will digitize Khalifa Bin Salman Port’s maritime services via cargo booking, documentation and vessel movement notifications, TradeArabia reported.    APM Terminals (APMT) Bahrain, the port operator of Khalifa Bin Salman Port (KBSP), plans to launch a new general cargo terminal operating system (GC-TOS), which will give the port a centralized information portal for cargo booking and movement, documentation and pre-arrival notifications, TradeArabia reported.
   The GC-TOS will initially focus on digitizing KBSP’s maritime services, followed by general cargo and billing, in order to improve efficiency and transparency.
   “Integrating digital solutions into our transshipment operations will help catalyze the collaboration and coordination among the many stakeholders and help us to manage activities at the quay, yard and gate,” APMT Bahrain CEO and Managing Director Mark Hardiman said. “Most importantly, it will maximize efficiencies for the entire supply chain, providing stakeholders real-time data and insights, transparency and reliability, creating business value for them.”
   APMT Bahrain is a multipurpose facility for domestic cargo, cruise traffic and a transshipment hub within the Arabian Gulf.
