Eimskip sets up reefer seafood forwarding company    Icelandic shipping group Eimskip has set up a forwarding and logistics company to provide specialized international freight forwarding services to the fisheries sector.
   Eimskip Reefer Logistics BV, based in the Netherlands, will provide “freight forwarding services for temperature-controlled seafood products throughout the world” related to the shipment and storage of such products, Eimskip said. It will coordinate the services offered by different Eimskip offices, both in and outside Iceland.
   The new company will link Eimskip’s services, the services of the Norwegian company CTG, in which Eimskip recently acquired a majority share, and services purchased from other shipping companies and service providers.
   “Emphasis will be placed on offering comprehensive services, integrating container and pallet shipments, as relevant,” the Icelandic company said.
   Headquarters of Eimskip Reefer Logistic will be in both Rotterdam and Schiphol airport, where Eimskip offers air freight services. Eimskip has appointed Bas Giezen to manage the company.
   Eimskip ships about 600,000 tons of frozen and temperature-controlled seafood products a year.
