Panama Canal chief travels to maritime centers

Panama Canal chief travels to maritime centers Panama Canal Authority (ACP) administrator and chief executive officer Alberto Alem'n Zubieta traveled to Seoul, Hong Kong and London last week, according to a statement today from the ACP.
   According to a statement from the ACP, Alem'n visited the global financial and maritime centers to provide industry officials 'a snapshot of the Panama Canal', emphasizing the Canal’s operational achievements and capacity growth through continuous improvements and modernization.'
   'We are pleased with the response that we have received thus far from the financial institutions; they understand that expansion is a financially sound, historic project and have expressed confidence in the plans we have laid out to accomplish it,' Alem'n said. 'Earlier this month we broke ground on the project near Paraiso Hill in front of thousands of Panamanians and world leaders in business and government. This project brings a true sense of pride and responsibility, and we are ready to meet the demands ahead.'
