Asia/East Coast South America consortium adds 2nd string, “K” Line

Japanese carrier 'K' Line will next month join China Shipping Container Lines, CMA CGM and Maruba as a vessel partner on the Asia/East Coast South America SEAS service, which will be split into two services.
   Starting June 20, two SEAS services will each use 10 ships with an average nominal capacity of 2,500 TEUs. Nine of the 20 vessels will come from CMA CGM, five from China Shipping, four from Maruba, and two from “K” Line.
   The respective weekly rotations will be:
   ' SEAS 1: Qingdao, Busan, Shanghai, Chiwan, Port Kelang, Rio de Janeiro, Santos, Buenos Aires, Montevideo, Rio Grande, Itajai, Santos, Port Kelang, Hong Kong and Qingdao.
   ' SEAS 2: Shanghai, Ningbo, Hong Kong, Shekou, Port Kelang, Santos, Buenos Aires, Sao Francisco do Sul, Paranagua, Santos, Rio de Janeiro, Durban, Port Kelang, Hong Kong and Shanghai.
   Tokyo-based “K” Line is already present in the trade onboard the ASAX service of Chilean carrier CSAV.
