WNS pairs with GT Nexus

   WNS Holdings Limited, a provider of global business process outsourcing (BPO) services, has entered a partnership with GT Nexus, which provides cloud-based supply chain services, on a new platform-based BPO offering to shippers and the logistics industry.
   The companies have agreed to jointly develop the service around documentation, freight management, contracts, pricing, and analytics with the ultimate goal of improving services and lowering costs.
   “The shipping and logistics industry has been facing multiple pressures created by unfavorable economic conditions,” said Keshav R. Murugesh, group chief executive officer at WNS, in a statement. “There is a strong need within the industry for managed services to help shift inefficient and manual transactions onto a global digital platform.”
   The companies said BPO providers are in a strong position to leverage what the cloud can offer because it can be used as an international, unified platform. One key area is digitizing and processing documents and shipping instructions.
   WNS’ shipping and logistics segment head Jaison Augustine said the company’s “BlackBox” solution will offer a cost reduction of 40 percent to 60 percent in the production cost of master and house bills of ladings for non-vessel-operating common carriers and freight forwarders.
   WNS has similar agreements with others like Capgemini and Trintech.
