FESCO charter will expand services

FESCO charter will expand services FESCO Ocean Management Ltd. (FOML) has completed a charter agreement with Eastern Car Liners Ltd. (ECL), a Tokyo-based roll-on/roll-off, breakbulk, heavy-lift, and project cargo operator, that will allow FESCO to expand its westbound service from the Pacific Northwest to the Russian Far East.
   ECL will provide a monthly eastbound liner service from Japan to the U.S. West Coast, which includes delivering two multipurpose and ro/ro vessels to FOML. In exchange, FOML will provide a monthly liner service westbound from Everett, Wash., to the ports of Vladivostok, Korsakov and South Korea's Busan/Masan.
   'For FOML these chartered vessels will be the backbone of an enhanced westbound service to the Russian Far East,' said Aspi Rostami, president of FOML. 'FOML intends to supplement this service with charters of Russian Flag SA-15 ro-ro/lo-lo vessels, purpose-built for the Russian Far East trade. FOML, with its expanded feeder vessel and railroad network, will now be able to offer through transportation services to all ports and inland destinations in the Russian Far East.'
