Alcohol packaging company goes with OH Logistics

Alcohol packaging company goes with OH Logistics Saxco-Demptos, a manufacturer of specialty packaging items for the wine and spirits industries, food and beverage companies and microbreweries, has named Ozburn-Hessey Logistics sole provider of warehouse and distribution services, the Tennessee-based logistics services provider said Tuesday.
   OH Logistics handles all warehousing for Saxco-Demptos from the 3PL’s campus in Fairfield, Calif. In addition, OH Logistics performs kitting of bottles and packaging for shipments to select California wineries.
   Saxco-Demptos previously handled its logistics services internally.
   “We have agreed on common measures of operational success and we are confident that we will reach all of the targeted improvements,” said Rich Bouwer, Saxco Demptos general manager, in a statement. “For example, we see tight adherence to health and cleanliness standards at the OH Logistics facility, and they are performing well on other scorecard metrics.”
   Some 180,000 square feet of space is utilized by Saxco-Demptos on average, but as seasonal fluctuations generate more or less demand, OH Logistics can expand and contract space in its multi-client campus, the company said.
