Executive Moves: MOL, Cargomatic and Norfolk Southern

MOL announces management promotions, while Cargomatic names two VPs and Norfolk Southern appoints HR VP and board audit committee chair.    MOL Liner Ltd. has appointed Richard Hiller, currently head of commerce and deputy managing director, to chief commercial officer, and Mitsujiro Akasaka, currently managing director of MOL (Asia) and deputy chief executive representative of Asia, the Middle East, Oceania for Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Ltd., to chief executive representative for Asia, the Middle East, and Oceania for Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Ltd. In addition, the company promoted Louis Tang, currently president and managing director of MOL (China), to managing director of MOL (Asia); and Yusuke Ueno, currently general manager of MOL’s Port Projects and Logistics Division, will become president and managing director of MOL (China). These changes take effect April 1.

   Cargomatic has named Chuck Oeleis executive vice president of sales and Meaghan Diem as vice president of enterprise sales, focusing on the company’s large-volume client base. Oleis spent 18 years with UPS in various executive positions, and most recently was a vice president for Carlile Transportation and later CEVA Logistics. Diem started her career in the late 1990s at General Motors helping to manage its warehouses, and held various business development positions at Menlo Logistics (now part of XPO Logistics) through early 2015. Prior to Cargomatic, she was director of transportation and distribution at Watts Water Technologoes and recently vice president of LTL services for Coyote Logistics. 

   Ann A. Adams has been named vice president human resources at Norfolk Southern Corp., effective April 1, 2016. She succeeds Juan K. Cunningham, who retired earlier this year. She joined the railroad’s HR department in 2001 and since 2012 served as assistant vice president of human resources. Norfolk Southern also elected Amy E. Miles, chief executive officer of Regal Entertainment Group, as chair of its board audit committee. She succeeds Karen N. Horn, who is retiring from the board.
