Emirates, SCI, TS Line to start Hyper Galex

Emirates, SCI, TS Line to start Hyper Galex    Emirates Shipping Line, the Shipping Corp. of India (SCI) and TS Line will next month start a joint weekly service connecting China, South East Asia, India and the Middle East.
   The Hyper Galex will be served by six vessels, each with 3,100-TEU capacity and 22.5 knots service speed. Emirates will provide four of the vessels, with SCI and TS Line contributing one ship each. OOCL and NYK-subsidiary TSK Line will take slots on the service.
   The service will start Nov. 11 with a port rotation of Xingang, Qingdao, Ningbo, Hong Kong, Singapore, Port Kelang, Colombo, Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Jebel Ali, Dammam, Abu Dhabi, Jebel Ali, Cochin, Colombo, Singapore, Hong Kong, and back to Xingang.
   Emirates said the Hyper Galex will provide the first direct link between Xingang in China and Dammam in Saudi Arabia and also between Cochin and North China.
   “Hyper Galex provides comprehensive container shipping links between three of the world’s fastest growing economic regions. With this in mind we have focused on providing a very wide port coverage to our customers,” said Vikas Khan, Emirates’ chairman and chief executive officer.
