The organization said that even though the amount of thefts didn’t increase from 2012 to 2013, thieves are becoming more organized and innovative. FreightWatch puts the cargo threat level in the United States at the penultimate-highest risk level.
During 2013, full-truckload thefts of pharmaceuticals rose by 50 percent, and driver thefts ticked up by 44 percent, FreightWatch said.
