Commissioners James Hankla, Mike Walter and Long Beach Mayor Bob Foster will visit three Japanese cities, one in South Korea and four in China over June 2-14. Foster plans to deliver a speech in Shanghai, meet with business leaders and sit down with government leaders in at least seven cities. The commissioners plan to meet with Asian officials to discuss port-related business.
The city's Harbor Department, which manages the port, will be paying for the trip.
