Cancer patient sets off Palm Beach radiation alarms Trace radiation emissions from a port employee who had recently undergone radiation treatments for cancer set off radiation detection alarms at the Port of Palm Beach Friday, leading to a one-hour shutdown at the port, according to the Web site of Palm Beach television station WPBF-TV.
   City of Riviera Beach spokeswoman Roseanne Brown told the station a portable radiation detection sensor worn by a Customs and Border Protection officer detected trace amounts of radiation from the woman when she came onto port property at around 12:40 p.m.
   The port was evacuated, the report said, but after the woman was interviewed and determined not to be a threat, the port was reopened. Officers determined the port employee set off the alarm because she had recently undergone radiation treatments, and the port was open by 2 p.m.
