West Side Highway next digging site for 9/11 victims New York City plans to dig under highway 9A, the West Side Highway, for remains of Sept. 11, 2001 victims, Newsday reports.
   During excavation of a service road at ground zero, the city found four ramps that provided underground access to the World Trade Center. The ramps extend underneath West Street. The Office of Chief Medical Examiner contends that there may be some WTC material under the street, writes Newsday.
   The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, as well as the city and state, are working a plan to dig up the ramps. When that takes place, the lanes on the highway will be partially closed for a month.
   Digging under highway 9A is part of a much larger project, after finding bones last October, to continue searching for remains in and around the ground zero. The project should be completed by this November.
