IKEA SELECTS DESCARTES, CGE&Y FOR LOGISTICS SOFTWARE    IKEA Group has selected Descartes Systems Group, based in Waterloo, Ontario, a provider of Internet logistics solutions, to assist the company with its inbound supply chain.
   IKEA, a global furniture retailer, has hired Cap Gemini Ernst and Young, a management and technology consulting firm, to integrate Descartes' logistics management software into IKEA’s systems.
   The retailer’s supply chain “can now change from handling everything to handling exceptions based on Descartes’ proactive alerts system. This is an important step forward to cope with IKEA’s increasing volumes,” said Henrik Dam Larsen, executive consultant at Cap Gemini Ernst and Young.
