CMA CGM China and CMA CGM Hong Kong Shipping will become agents of CNC's international liner services.
Established in 1971 in Taiwan and based in Taipeh, CNC runs 11 services to some 60 ports in Japan, Korea, Taiwan, China, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam. It deploys 11 vessels and can charter 20 more each week under several cooperation agreements.
CMA CGM acquired CNC in April 2007. In 2008, it carried some 770,500 TEUs and posted revenue of $360 million. The company employs 187 shore people.
CMA said the decision was “a natural outcome since CNC is part of CMA CGM world.” The company had been represented in the past by a group of companies led by Agn's Chong.
