PSA HIRES SENIOR HUTCHISON EXECUTIVE THE    Singapore-based global terminal operator PSA Corp. has hired Eddie Teh, a senior executive at arch-rival port group Hutchison Port Holdings, to become its group executive deputy chairman.
   Teh has been managing director, Asia, Middle East & Africa division at Hutchison, and concurrently head of business development. His responsibilities ranged from international business development to the general management of port operations in Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, Pakistan, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Tanzania and Korea.
   The move of Teh from Hutchison to PSA will be seen as a coup between Asia’s two largest global terminal operators.
   Teh will become full-time executive deputy chairman of PSA, a new position, on Dec. 1.
   PSA said that Teh “is expected to work closely with the PSA management team in Singapore and internationally to strengthen its competitive strengths in terms of overall efficiency, core competencies and customer service.”
   “In the port industry, Eddie is known for his business acumen in seizing business opportunities and working them through the odds to bring them to fruition,” said Stephen Lee, chairman of PSA.
   PSA has port operations in Singapore, Belgium, Brunei, China, India, Italy, Korea, Portugal and Yemen. It expects to handle 25 million TEUs in 2002.
