U.S. coalition plugs nuclear energy exports    A Washington-based trade group highlighted the tremendous export benefits to U.S. companies with the more than 60 new nuclear energy projects under construction and another 80 in the licensing or advanced planning stages around the world.
   'The demand for high-quality commodities, components and services provides an export opportunity for U.S. manufacturers,' said the Trade and American Competitiveness Coalition.
   The Nuclear Energy Institute estimates the international market represents potential orders of more than $400 billion in equipment and services over the next 15 years.
   The size and complexity of nuclear power plants creates a broad range of export opportunities, the coalition said. The average nuclear plant may require about 500 to 3,000 nuclear grade valves, 125 to 250 pumps, 44 miles of piping, 300 miles of electric wiring, and 90,000 electrical components.
