ITC report maps trends in U.S. merchandise trade    A report released by the U.S. International Trade Commission outlines recent trends in trade for American goods overseas.
   The report, “Shifts in U.S. Merchandise Trade, 2003,” focuses on changes in U.S. exports, imports, and trade balances of key natural resource, agricultural and manufacturing industries, as well as changes in U.S. bilateral/multilateral trade with major partners.
   The ITC report, for example, points out that while the U.S. trade deficit with China increased more than with any other country in 2003, trade in agricultural products with China resulted in a trade surplus for the United States, increasing by $1.1 billion to reach $3.8 billion that year.
   Also available in the ITC report are profiles of the U.S. industry and market for more than 250 industry/commodity groups and subgroups, providing data for 1999 to 2003 on domestic consumption, production, employment, trade and import penetration.
