DHL adds Shanghai/South America LCL services    DHL is continuing its drive to develop less-than-containerload services, adding new South American destinations from Shanghai this week.
   The company will offer LCL service from Shanghai to Valparaiso and Buenos Aires, with the product aimed at small- and medium-sized businesses that don't require full containers.
   Throughout 2009, DHL launched LCL services from key hubs in Asia to points in Europe and the Americas.
   Transit time to Buenos Aires will be 28 days, and to Valparaiso 30 days. That's a savings of up to 15 days over the traditional routing through Hong Kong, the company said. The services are provided by Danmar Lines, DHL Global Forwarding's in-house carrier. The company said it moves more than 2 million cubic meters of LCL freight annually between 45,000 point pairs.
