Hoegh Autoliners names CEO

Hoegh Autoliners names CEO Carl-Johan Hagman will become chief executive officer of H'egh Autoliners, succeeding Thor J'rgen Guttormsen by the end of the year.
   Guttormsen, who is CEO of both Leif H'egh & Co and H'egh Autoliners, will remain CEO of Leif H'egh & Co and be a non-executive director of H'egh Autoliners and H'egh LNG.
   Hagman is CEO of Swedish roll-on/roll-off carrier Transatlantic. At the end of 2007 he ended a five-year stint as chairman and CEO of Eukor Car Carriers Inc., based in Seoul, Korea. There he led its transition from a division of Hyundai Merchant Marine to an independent global car carrier operator that was 40 percent owned by each Wallenius Lines and Wilhelmsen Lines, and 20 percent owned by Hyundai Motors and Kia Motors.
   Trained as a maritime lawyer in his native Sweden, Hagman spent the first eight years of his career with leading ship owner Wallenius and affiliate Wallenius Wilhelmsen.
   H'egh Autoliners operates 67 pure car and truck carriers that moved about 2 million car equivalent units in 2007. Ships on order will boost the Hoegh Autoliners capacity by 40 percent to 85 ships by 2012.
   Earlier this year, A.P. Moller – Maersk purchased a 37.5 percent stake in the privately held company.
