Gutierrez was president of Calmaquip Engineering. He and five other defendants pleaded guilty in 2006 to charges related to a scheme to charge inflated prices for construction work at Piarco International Airport in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad. Gutierrez pleaded guilty to charges of wire fraud and bank fraud. Prosecutors said the participants used offshore companies and bank accounts to conceal the scheme, the report said.
