TACA to raise U.S. inland tariff    The Trans-Atlantic Conference Agreement will increase its tariff for all U.S. inland transportation movements carried under motor and rail/motor modes by 5 percent, effective Nov. 1.
   The conference said the rise was “prompted by escalating third party costs across all modes of transport.”
   “TACA tariff inland portions covering movements by rail have been generally static for a number of years and motor and rail/motor modes have remained unchanged since May 2004 despite further cost increases to carriers over this period,” TACA said.
   TACA’s members are Atlantic Container Line, Maersk Line, Mediterranean Shipping Co., Nippon Yusen Kaisha Line, and Orient Overseas Container Line.
