Dutch developers to provide trucking haven in Europe TCN Property Projects is aiming to offer truckers “everything their hearts desire” with its TruckCity concept, due on most major European motorways from next year.
   The Dutch real estate company said the “villages” would be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week with facilities such as hotel and catering services, fitness and relaxation areas and continuously guarded parking areas. While kicking back drivers will also be able to get routine maintenance and repairs done to their vehicles.
   “Safety is becoming an increasingly more important theme in the transport sector,” said Bert-Jan Hemmen, TCN director. “Research has shown that in Europe companies suffer nearly 8.2 billion euros ($11.1 billion) in losses due to thefts committed along the roads, particularly at car parks without security.
   “As a result, drivers frequently feel unsafe, and consequently, sleep poorly. TruckCity offers companies and drivers safety and security through the presence of a proper and permanent security service on the property.”
   Established in 1994 TCN has offices in the Netherlands, Germany, Portugal, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Turkey, Charlemagne, Spain, Austria and Hungary.
