ITC investigates competition for U.S. fresh orange and lemon industry    The U.S. International Trade Commission has begun an investigation into the competitive conditions faced by America’s fresh orange and lemon producers.
   The investigation was requested by the House Ways and Means Committee in a July 5 letter to the ITC.
   The ITC’s investigation will cover fresh orange and lemon industry production, consumption and trade; profiles of producer countries, such as Argentina, Australia, Chile, China, Mexico, Spain and South Africa; and input costs for domestic production, such as packing costs and transportation to market.
   The ITC will hold a public hearing in connection with the investigation at its Washington headquarters Feb. 7. For more information, contact the ITC’s Office of the Secretary at (202) 205-2000.
