Amerijet flight crews ratify new contract with airline

The four-year contract is scheduled to take effect on Dec. 19 and includes an initial increase in base wages for Captains and First Officers of more than 55 to 75 percent, with additional yearly wages.    Amerijet International, Inc.’s pilots and professional flight engineers represented by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters ratified a new contract with the airline.

Seniority and sick leave improvements will also take effect with the new agreement.
   A total of 85 members are in the bargaining unit, represented by Local 769 in North Miami, Fla.
   “These new contracts represent a commitment by the company, the union, and our flight crew members to a positive and productive labor-management relationship moving forward,” Amerijet President and CEO Vic Karjian said.
   Amerijet is an all-cargo air carrier that operates Boeing 767 and Boeing 727 aircraft from its main hub at the Miami International Airport to the Caribbean, Mexico, Central America and South America, according to the airline.
