Grimaldi is a global leader in the roll-on/roll-off cargo sector and has become the leading European operator in of short sea or 'motorways of the sea' vessels.
The group's ships serve four continents, carrying millions of ro/ro units, containers and passengers all over the world.
Guido’s uncle, Achille Lauro, introduced him to shipping after World War II, helping him purchase one of the Liberty ships assigned by the United States to Italy. In subsequent decades he presided over the development of business.
His sons, Gianluca and Emanuele and son-in-law Diego continue to lead the Grimaldi Group.
