TIACA announces members of newly formed shipper council

Representatives from Chanel Fragrances and Beauté, Ericsson, Sandvik Machining Solutions, Marine Harvest RMT and Teva Pharmaceutical Industries have joined the association’s Shipper Advisory Committee.    The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA) announced several members of its newly formed shipper council at a press conference during the TIACA Executive Summit in Hollywood, Fla. Wednesday.
   TIACA’s Shipper Advisory Committee will include representatives from Chanel Fragrances and Beauté, Ericsson, Sandvik Machining Solutions, Marine Harvest RMT and Teva Pharmaceutical Industries, and will grow to include members from the flower and automotive industries soon, officials said. The group was created in March and is chaired by Lars J.T. Droog, supply chain and general affairs manager at Tosoh Corp.
   The council is meant to complement existing shipper organizations by expanding the opportunity to include all sectors of the global air cargo community, said TIACA Secretary General Doug Brittin.
   “We have representation from a wide range of industries who ship a significant amount by air globally to bring insight into shipper challenges, so that the industry can better collaborate and work towards slicker, safer supply chains,” added Droog.
   “TIACA represents all sections of the industry and we feel it is very important to provide this platform specifically for shippers to bring their concerns to the discussion table,” said Sanjiv Edward, TIACA chairman and head of cargo business at Delhi International Airport.
   “Collaboration is key to ensuring we add value to the industry,” said Edward.
