Freight Rate Roundup: Maersk, MSC, CMA CGM, Hapag-Lloyd and OOCL

   Maersk Line announced increased FAK rates from:
     • Asia to the Mediterranean;
     • Far East Asia to the United States and Canada;
     • Far East Asia to West Africa;
     • The Far East to North Europe;
     • Far East Asia to the West Coast of Central and South America, Mexico, Panama and the Caribbean;
     • And the Mediterranean and Black Sea to the Middle East and Indian Subcontinent.
   MSC has also adjusted rates from Europe to Asia and the Middle East (Gulf).
   CMA CGM issued general rate restorations from:
     • All Asian ports to all Middle East Gulf ports for all cargo effective Oct. 15. Rates will increase by $200 per TEU.
     • North Europe and Baltic ports to the East Coast of South America effective Nov. 1. Rates for dry and reefer cargo will increase by 175 euros per TEU and 300 euros per FEU.
     • Asia (including Korea, Taiwan, Japan, Southeast Asia and Bangladesh) to Kenya and Tanzania for all cargo (including dry, reefer, OOG and breakbulk) effective Nov. 1. Rates will increase by $300 per TEU and $600 per FEU.
   CMA CGM also announced new FAK rates on the Asia to Mediterranean and Asia to North African trades effective Oct. 15.
   In addition, Hapag-Lloyd announced an increased FAK rate for all cargo and standard container types from the North Continent and the Mediterranean to East Asia effective Nov. 1.
   Hapag-Lloyd also issued a general rate increase from the Western Mediterranean to the United States for all cargo and container types effective Nov. 4. Rates will increase by $175 per TEU container and $250 per FEU container.
   OOCL is increasing freight rates from the Far East (excluding Japan) to North Europe, the Mediterranean and the Black Sea effective Oct. 17. Rates will increase by $800 per TEU.
