NS picks Micropact labor relations tool

NS picks Micropact labor relations tool Norfolk Southern Corp., the largest freight railroad east of the Mississippi, will use software from Herndon, Va.-based Micropact Engineering to help manage its workforce.
   The information technology provider said its entelliTrak Labor Relations module would reduce paperwork, increase efficiency through automated document updates and facilitate access to data from the field.
   entelliTrak is a Web-based data management tool that allows managers to retrieve, track and update reports without the need for custom development. Micropact will integrate the Labor Relations module with Norfolk Southern’s corporate document management system, enabling the railroad to store case files, track grievance data, create daily activity reports, status reports and data trend analysis reports.
   Micropact will map and migrate Norfolk Southern’s existing personnel files to the entelliTrak system.
