Canadian Pacific reports $6 billion record year

   Canadian Pacific ended 2013 with a record revenue of $6.1 billion, an 8 percent increase from the previous year, and experienced a revenue record in the fourth quarter, generating $1.6 billion, a 7-percent increase year over year.
   In its sharpest increases, the company saw a 45-percent increase in its adjusted operating income in the fourth quarter, which was $547 million, and a 41-percent increase, year-over-year, in adjusted operating income, at $1.8 billion.
   Harrison said in a news release that the company’s pace of change surpassed expectations.
   “We entered 2013 with an aggressive agenda of change and financial targets that would put us squarely in the path of achieving our goal of once again becoming an industry leader,” he stated. “I am proud to report that we exceeded those targets and have reestablished a sense of pride and accomplishment to this historic organization. Riding this positive momentum, I fully anticipate that 2014 will be another year of solid returns for our shareholders.”
