BECTON DICKINSON SIGNS WITH EGL EAGLE GLOBAL LOGISTICS
   Becton Dickinson and Co., a provider of medical technology products and systems, has awarded a multimillion-dollar contract to EGL Eagle Global Logistics, based in Houston, to provide transportation services.
   As Becton Dickinson’s principal domestic carrier, EGL will provide same-day, next-day, and two-day delivery services in North America. BD will also use EGL’s Web-based technology to track and trace shipments
   One factor in winning the BD contract was EGL’s business model, “which combines the flexibility of commercial carriers with our ground network and dedicated positions on cargo aircraft,” said Joe Bento, EGL’s president, North America, and chief marketing officer.
