The free zone operations will be located at industrial parks in Haina and in Azua Province, both in the southern part of the country. Seven new companies will be operating at the free zones, creating as estimated 650 direct jobs, said Luisa Fernandez, Free Zone Export Council director.
The report said the new zones would make an initial impact on the economy of $8.2 million.
